The driver of a gurdwara Committee and driver of the head has been captured for more than once raping a 19-year person on the gurdwara premises and stalking her even after her marriage. The charged, Tarlochan Singh, 43, fills in as a driver with Jaswant Singh, head of gurdwara committee, Gurdwara Nanaksar, Chandigarh road.
In her complaint, the victim told the police that she and her sibling had been living in the gurdwara for as far back as two years as their parents had abandoned them. At the gurdwara, she was given the obligation of washing garments of people, for which she used to go to Tarlochan’s room on the gurdwara premises where a washing machine was kept.
At whatever point she went to the room, Tarlochan constrained her to see obscene pictures and recordings on his cell phone, and assaulted her. He kept on continuing the wrongdoing for four months, until she left the place in the wake of getting married in August.
Notwithstanding, even after marriage, Tarlochan kept on stalking her, and used to make profane signals at her at whatever point she visited the gurdwara with her in-laws. In the long run her in-laws came to know about the issue and her past, after which she moved toward the police.
Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Bhajan Singh, who is investigating the matter, said the police arrested Tarlochan immediately after registering a case under Sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The accused has been living separately from his wife due to strained marital discord. A divorce case is sub-judice.
