Various security forces held a mock drill at Sri Guru Ram Das Sahib Ji airport which put everyone at high alert. Trained bomb sniffing dogs searched passenger backage while security forces drew their guns as if there was an actual threat. The effort was part of preparations of any possible attack on the airport to make personell prepared in the event of an emergency.

Despite the security forces, no on actually knew that the drill was a mock causing fear among passengers of their actually being a threat. The forces were preparing for 26th January to increase security presence in and around airports and other places where there is a large public gathering.

After the recent killings of civilians in Jammu, India has put forces on high alert as new agencies reported that killings squads may have been released into India on the cover of fire by the Pakistani military.

An attack on the Pathankot airbase by Pakistani killing squad occurred a few years back.
