Cops Break Man’s Typewriter But Social Media Makes Cop Buy a New One

A UP police sub-inspector who on Saturday broke the typewriter of an elderly man by kicking it at Lucknow’s posh Hazratganj allegedly to remove encroachment from the area, has been suspended.

Krishna Kumar, a native of Gomti Nagar, has been sitting outside the General Post Office in Lucknow, barely earning Rs. 50 by typing in Hindi on his old typewriter for the last 35 years.

On Saturday morning, sub-inspector Pradeep Kumar, reportedly asked the the 65-year-old typist to vacate the spot.

When Kumar protested, the irate sub-inspector reportedly abused the elderly man and kicked the typewriter repeatedly till it broke into pieces.
On instructions of #UPCM @yadavakhilesh DM and SSP immediately visited Kishan Ji and handed over a new typewriter
SSP and DM Lucknow met Kishan Ji and apologized for the unethical behavior of the policeman
