An event was organized in Ontario to raise money for the Sewa Food Bank which helps feed over 200,000 needy people in the Peel region of Canada.
The fundraiser attracted political leaders to help raise money in a non-partisan way. Two of the biggest leaders of Canada were in attendance Canadian MP Navdeep Bains and NDP Federal leader Jagmeet Singh.
The even managed to raise $40,000 which was about ten thousand short of the $50,000 target. This is when things got interesting when the two opposing party leaders said they would do a dance off if they managed to raise $50,000.
Donations quickly poured in causing the target to be met.
A reporter in attendance kept the social media up to date on the latest on the event.
Things just got interesting. @NavdeepSBains and @theJagmeetSingh will have a dance off if people donate 50k! We’re at 40k! Video to come! @SevaFoodBank @NDP @liberal_party
