Building Collapses in Mohali, Army on Standby for Rescue Operations

A three-storey building on Saturday collapsed in Punjab’s Mohali. 

Several people are feared trapped under the debris. Rescue operation is underway. 10 to 15 people are trapped under the building.

NDRF team has reached on the spot.  One trapped have been rescued yet. JCB operator is also trapped with the others.

Deputy Commissioner, Mohali, Girish Dayalan said, “The two people who have been rescued have said that there are only two more persons inside. But we will continue the rescue work considering that there maybe more number of people inside.”

The National Disaster Response Force team arrived on site with 25 people and 7 other units took over the rescue operation. The NDRF team came from Pinjore and were brought immediately to the site.

One of the injured Prem Bahadur was admitted to the civil hospital.
