The British Labour MP Tom Watson( West Bromwich constituency),who helped uncover british involvement in the 1984 Amritsar attack.

An estimated 50,000 Sikhs marched through London to remember the 1984 massacre at Sri Harmandar Sahib.

Balbir Singh Bains, CEO of Sikh Relief, said: “I remember vividly the call from our family in India informing us that our holiest place of worship, Sri Harmandir Sahib, had been attacked and worshippers had been killed. This rally serves as a reminder to those that we have not forgotten nor will we forget the injustice of these events that took sons away from their mothers. And 30 years on they still wait for justice.”

Sukhvinder Kaur, a British Sikh, added: “This year, for the first time we saw some form of acknowledgement from the Indian government when home minister Rajnath Singh declared the events that occurred in 1984 as genocide. This is a very positive step from the current government and we look forward to seeing what develops from this.”

The event was organized by the Federation of Sikh organizations to remember those who lost their lives.

One of the guest speakers at the event was Labour Party’s Tom Watson to show solidarity With Sikhs.
