Security agencies are conducting a through investigation after a young boy captured a pigeon with Pakistan stamps. The pigeon was caught with ‘Pakistani markings’ and on the border in Pathankot of district Punjab.
Police are calling the pigeon a ‘suspect’ of spying. The pigeon underwent scans to determine anything was hidden inside of it for the use of intelligence.
The bird has “Shakargarh” and “Narowal” written on its body in English, along with some numbers and words in Urdu.
After scanning the bird, “But we did not find anything in the scan,” said the SSP.
He added “Nothing suspicious has been found as yet but we are not taking any chances.”
A number of pigeons have been caught in the past who’ve been suspected of spying.
