A Jet Airways shuttle bus crashed into an Air India aircraft parked at the Kolkata airport this morning, causing damage worth crores though no one was seriously hurt.

Police sources say the driver of the coach, Momin Ali, was on night duty and may have fallen asleep at the wheel. He is being questioned and medically examined. Sources say early medical tests have indicated no alcohol or drugs.

There were no passengers either in the aircraft or the shuttle when the incident took place at around 5:25 am.

Airport officials said the plane was parked at Bay no. 32 and was preparing to fly to Silchar in Assam. The bus hit the plane near its left wing.
