Multiple Mumbai based news groups have broken the news of Manmeet Grewal’s suicide at his residence in Navi Mumbai. The actor appeared in ‘Aadat Se Majboor’ and ‘Kuldeepak’ shows. The reason for suicide was reported to be heavy debt and unable to make payments as work dried up due to the lockdown.
Manmeet’s wife found him hanging in his bedroom and his wife screamed and yelled for help but the neighbors didn’t come due to assuming Manmeet had the coronavirus.
Manmeet’s friend Manjit Singh told Spotboye, “He was very normal that evening, went to his room and locked it from inside. That time his wife was in the kitchen making food. When she heard the noise of a chair, she rushed to the bedroom and held him. She screamed a lot for the help and neighbours did come hearing the noise but no one came forward to help or get him down.”
A security guard arrived on the scene to take the body down and taken to the nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. A report at the police station revealed the actor had a debt he could not pay and his rs 8500 in rent was cited. The actor apparently became overwhelmed with stress from the debt that he took his life.
