The Harbhajan Mann starer film Gadaar has had an exceptional first weekend according the box office report of the film. The first day total was a remarkable 1.22 crores which comes in at the 2nd highest opener after Diljit Dosanjh starer Jatt and Juliet 2.
The film did extremely well in major Punjabi cities and Delhi in India. The major overseas markets saw full houses at many screens. The collections dipped a bit on Saturday with an earnings report figure of about 98 lakhs but word to word marketing and strong reviews the film almost doubled it’s total for Sunday with 1.85 crores.
The total gross so far for the film has been totaled at 4.05 crores at the box office.
The story of the film revolves around the extrajudicial killings of Sikhs in the 1990s. The film also exposes inspector Ajit Sandhu who was responsible of killing human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra.
Media reports have stated Ajit Sandhu committed suicide by jumping in front of a train but many believe he is still alive and living in Canada.
