BJP and Akali Councillors Clash in Batala After Chilli Powder Attack

The BJP and Shiromani Akali Dal, the alliance partners of the state government clashed during a Batala Municipal Council meeting. The SAD group led by Balbir Singh Bittu threw chilli powder at former MLA Jagdish Sahni outside his office.

The video tape shows Bittu tried to assault Mahajan inside his office.

Two BJP workers were hit with the chilli powder and rushed to the hospital with burnt eyes.

The clash started when BHP Council President adjourned the meeting without any cause which made the SAD Councillors angry. Reportedly, 6 of the BJP Councillors joined the Akali Dal and raised slogans against the BJP.

Bittu has claimed Mahajan behaved inappropriately when he questioned him about the adjournment.
