Eco-activist Balbir Singh Seechewal was recognized by Amitabh Bachchan for his work in the anti-river pollution campaign. Ironically, the Balbir was honored on the day thousands of Sikhs were murdered in Delhi in 1984 by the man whose accused of rousing anti-Sikh sentiments during a Doordarshan broadcast.
A Facebook post by Bal K Sandhu was seen receiving a tremendous response.
“Balbir Singh Seechewal being honoured by Amitabh Bachan on star plus. Our own egos and those wearing the Sikh identity are the first to sell out – that’s why we continue in circles and those raising the voice for justice are not heard .
Bachan – doesn’t need to face up to justice for calling ‘blood to reach those who murdered mother India ‘ this day 31 years ago because you have sell outs like this so called baba and Daler mehndi making him look like a ‘friend of the sikhs’
It’s not by coincidence there are gatra wearing Sikhs sitting in the audience and Daler mehndi has ‘sung’ the mool manter on this programme today of all days when Sikhs were raped, murdered, set alight in Delhi Sikhs still await justice #sikhlivesmatter”
