Earlier interacting with the media persons, the Chief Minister termed the statewide dharnas by Congress as a ‘political gimmick’. Mr. Badal said that state Congress leadership was hell bent upon wasting its energy by politicizing these issues and the state government was already proactively probing all cases related to recruitments and law & order. He advised Captain to play a constructive role for the development of state and betterment of its people rather blowing these issues out of proportion.

Referring to some objections raised by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on the screening of film ‘Udta Punjab’, the Chief Minister quipped how the state government could be held responsible for it when the CBFC was exclusively under the control of Government of India.

Prominent amongst other present on the occasion included former Speaker Mr. Nirmal Singh Kahlon, Chairman Punjab State Tubewell Corporation Mr. Ravikaran Singh Kahlon, Joint Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Kumar Amit, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Pradeep Sabharwal and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Diljinder Singh Dhillon.
