A 32-year-old woman was stabbed to death at Bulowal village here on Friday.
In his complaint to the police, Gopal Singh told that his son Sukhwinder Singh was living in Italy while his daughter-in-law Surinder Kaur was living with them at their house. He said due to some personal enmity, their neighbour Tilak Raj and his sons Prem and Ram Murti used to throw stones at their house.
“Though we filed numerous complaints at Sadar police station, everytime after the intervention of respectable persons of the village, they made a compromise with the accused. In 2014, Prem Kumar and Ram Murti even tried to molest my daughter-in law after which the police registered a case under section 354 of the IPC against them,” he added.
After getting bail, the accused again started throwing stones at their house and when they lodged complaint with police, the accused threatened them of dire consequences.
“On Friday evening, Prem and his brother Ram Murti along with two more persons barged into our house and attacked my daughter-in-law with sharp-edged weapons. The accused stabbed her until she died. Listening to the screams, when my younger daughter-in-law Jasbir Kaur reached the spot, the accused also injured her and later fled from the spot”
Sadar police station SHO Kamalmeet Singh said on the statement of Gopal Singh, they would be registering a case against Prem, Ram Murti and two others, who are absconding yet.
It is pertinent to mention here that it was a second incident of murder in four days. Earlier, on Sunday evening, three youths killed a government schoolteacher.
