Amitabh Bachchan drew controversy on Twitter when he stated in a reply message to Karan Johar that He’s a “Sikh.” The controversy started during a snippet of a interview between Karan Johar and Ramesh Sippy. In the clip, the Punjabi phenomenon in the Bollywood film industry was being discussed.
It revolved around how back in the days, Punjabi was spoken by most of the actors especially big names despite everyone doing Hindi films. Karan Johar made a comment on how Amitabh Bachchan has nothing to do with being a Punjabi yet he still spoke Punjabi because he says “when you are in Rome you do what the Romans do.”

Amitabh has laid claim to be a half Sikh which people on Twitter weren’t too happy about. They responded to Amitabh Bachchan by saying.
Being born into a Sikh Family does not make you a Sikh. Sikhism is a way of life which is lived by the principles laid down by our Guru's and prescribed in Guru Granth Sahib.. You sir are not a Sikh in any way and should not claim to be any part of one!
