Amandeep Dhami Gets Life in Prison for Shooting at Sikh Gurdwara in Sacramento


Amandeep Dhami was sentenced to life in prison for murdering a man inside a Sikh Gurdwara Sahib in Sacramento said the Sacramento County Deputy District Attorney Anthony Ortiz.

Dhami was convicted back on June 17, 2015 for the second degree murder and attempt to murder with firearm by the jury.

What Happened?

Dhami and his accomplice Gurpreet Singh Gosal entered a nagar Kirtan at around 1:30pm on August 31, 2008 and fired into the crowd killing Parmjit Singh Pamma. The bullets hit Pamma in his abdomen and he died to severe bleeding. Another man named Sahib Jeet Singh was shot and later recovered from the injury.

Gosal ran from the scene by hiding at fields nearby but members of the sangat chased him down and they were eventually arrested by police.

The accomplice was convicted last year and will spend 25 years in jail.

However, Dhami fled to India and was brought back from the country 6 years later after his arrest in 2014.
