Akal Takht: Sacrilege Incident Happened to Diffuse Farmer Protests

At Gurdwara Sahib in village Tarkhan Majra in Fatehgarh Sahib district, a man today dismembered Guru Granth Sahib Ji by ripping several angs.

The accused was caught by the villagers on the spot. The accused was beaten by villagers. Upon receiving the information, the police rushed to the spot, took the accused into custody and took him to the police station. According to information received, the accused was not a resident of the village.

It has carried out the operation at Gurdwara Sahib in Tarkhanmajra village on the Sirhind-Gobindgarh road under a grand conspiracy.

According to eyewitnesses, the accused is mentally fit. It may be recalled that on this very day in 2015, i.e. on October 12, the angs of Guru Granth Sahib Ji were insulted and thrown in the streets by the devotees of Dera Sirsa in Bargari village.

The Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh told the media that the sacrilege incident may have occurred due to diffusing farmer protests. The Jathedar said he’s suspicious as the farmer protests were happening 5 years ago and the sacrilege incident of Bargari happened. He says again now farmer protests are happening and the incident at Tarkan Majra has happened.
