The Akal Takht Jathedar responded to the loss of a Sikh man’s life in Jammu after he became the victim of open fire by the police. The Sikh youth named Jagjeet Singh fell instantly after being struck by a policeman.
After the death of the youth, the protests intensified as Sikhs blocked major roads. A curfew was initiated it certain parts of Jammu and security forces were deployed.
The Akal Takht Jathedar condemned this incident and said ‘It’s shameful the police ripped the poster and then killed a Sikh youth. The police suppose to fire at enemies not protesters.’
