A beautiful shabad describes the feelings of Singhs after hearing Guru Gobind Singh Ji arriving at their village. This post via: Ranjit Singh Chohan: Ranjit Singh Chohan
This is a beautiful song of mystical love – after hearing that Guru Gobind Singh was coming to the Lakhi Jungle after the battle of Chamkaur, Sikhs rushed to meet their Beloved. It tells of their uncontrolled joy, love and yearning for the ‘Darshan’ sight of Guru Sahib. This shabad is found in the ‘Asfotak Kabitts ‘ or supplementary Shabads of Sri Dasm Granth .

On hearing the call of the Beloved Master’s Flute;
( The thrilling heart-throb of the Master )
The disciples became restless and giving up their food
Rushed impatiently towards Lakhi Jungle to meet their
Beloved Master: Guru Gobind Singh Ji. (1).
Unique is their affection and devotion for the Master;
They mingle not with anyone, they yearn not for others,
But seek the presence and nearness of their Guru.
The agony and pangs of separation has departed;
The disciples have met their Beloved Master
And attained rapturous intoxication and Sublime Bliss. (2)

In the Lakkhee Jungle, the Khalsa heard of His coming and they longed to see Him. Just like when the water buffalo hear the call of the herdsman, they leave their food and water to rush to him. In their joy and excitement they ran to see their Beloved, each trying to pass the other to get there first. Their pain was gone when they met the Guru, their herdsman, and they gave thanks !
