A Punjabi Arun Bains Murdered in “Low Level Drug War” in Surrey

“Twenty-two year old Arun Paul Singh Bains was rushed to hospital earlier this morning but succumbed to his injuries.”

Sergeant Stephanie Ashton with IHIT has identified the victim in this morning’s Surrey shooting.

Sergeant Ashton stated “Bains had ties to street level drug trade”

Sergeant Dale Carr with Surrey RCMP has a message for those involved:

“This is not just gunplay back and forth. This has turned into murder. And it’s going to take another life of a young person; a young man. And we’re deeply concerned as a police agency and as a community.””

The shooting occurred at 126 and 88th before 3:00 am on Sunday.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is seeking more information about Bains’ activities in the hours before his death.

“If you saw or heard something even if you think it is unimportant we want to hear from you,” Surrey RCMP Sgt. Dale Carr said Sunday.

“This murder is a tragic incident; one that we feared would happen in light of the recent string of shootings. Our deep concern now is that there may be a retaliation incident. We are appealing to those involved in this ongoing dispute to not take any more lives and to understand that this is more than gunplay, it’s murder.”

“Now more than ever, we need assistance from the community. We need you to come forward with any little bit of information you may have before another young person is killed,” Carr said.
