It has been known for a long time that the Patiala Kingdom was the biggest traitor of the Sikh Quam since their founder Baba Ala Singh did with the Sikh Misls. Our post
shows how throughout history they went against the Khalsa Panth.
This extremely rare footage shows Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala greeting Michael O’Dwyer the man who authorized the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.
This incredible footage further gives evidence how the Patiala Kingdom has always went against the interests of the Sikh Quam. The background on the footage is Maharaja of Bhupinder Singh of Patiala meeting British dignitaries on the steps of Caxton Hall in London in the early 1920s. Michael O’Dwyer can be seen in the footage being friendly with Maharaja Bhupinder Singh. O’Dwyer had been the Lieutenant Governor of the Punjab during the time of the Jallainwala Bagh massacre.
Bhupinder Singh’s governorship of Punjab included extreme brutality by the police and he later refused to condemn the Jallianwala Massacre of April 1919. Bhupinder Singh in a telegram told Dyer “Your action is correct and the Lieutenant Governor approves.”
Even the British Government condemned the attack with the Secretary of War Winston Churchill called it “mostrous” and the former Prime Minister Asquith called it “one of the worst outrages in the whole of our history”
However, not even 1 Indian Prince condemn the attack. It’s often been written the O’Dwyer and Bhupinder Singh were great friends and supporters of each and their agreement of the Jallianwala Bagh proves this. The friendship is also clear on how openly they greeted each other in this video.
The biggest irony is the footage was shot at Caxton Hall the exact place where Udham Singh who was a witness of Jallianwala Bagh tracked down O’Dwer and shot him dead on March 13, 1940.
