Srinagar: Army today paid tributes with full military honours to the martyred soldiers Gnr Surendra, Sep Surinder Singh, LNk Botta Satyam and LNk Gurdev Singh who were killed during an encounter in Rajwar of Kupwara District yesterday, a defense spokesman said in a statement issued here today.
“Late Gnr Surendra, Sep Surinder Singh, LNk Botta Satyam and LNk Gurdev Singh were members of the Army team that launched an operation yesterday in Haphruda forest of Rajwar in Kupwara District, in which they approached the suspected area where the terrorists were reportedly hiding and they came under a heavy volume of fire,” the spokesman said.
The Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen Satish Dua paid homage to the martyrs by laying a wreath on behalf of all Ranks of the Chinar Corps. Floral tributes were also paid on behalf of the Northern Army Commander.
Surinder Singh was suppose to be married next month.
