A Sikh Saves life of Drowning Man in Ludhiana


Sikhs have once again proven that helping humanity comes over anything and they are willing to do everything possible to help a person in need. Satnam Singh saved the life of drowning victim Satish Kumar by untying his turban and throwing it down a canal by Ferozepur Road in Ludhiana near the Verka Milk plant.

What Happened?

Religious items fell being held by Satish’s wife fell in the canal. Satish thought he could recover the items by grabbing them from shore. However, Satish’s foot slipped and he went further into the waters of the canal. Satish started to drown and many people watched helplessly.

Satish’s wife yelled for help but no one came to assist until a Sikh man named Satnam Singh immediately went to the rescue. Satnam and his wife Gurmit Kaur were going to pick up medicine. They heard calls for help and went to assess the situation. Satnam didn’t think twice used his turban to save the life of Satish Kumar.

Satnam stated that as a Sikh it’s his duty to help others.
