Sikh Man’s Tweet on Gurdwaras Helping Those Stranded in Paris Goes Viral

A UK Sikh Man from the city of Conventry is being praised worldwide as it was one of the first tweets of of offering help to the victims of the Paris Terror attacks.

The man named Rohan Singh Kalsi used the hashtag #PorteOuverte to help those in need of shelter or food.

He tweet: “Anybody who’s stranded in Paris and needs shelter and somewhere safe, any Sikh Gurdwara (temple) will be happy to accommodate #PorteOuverte.”


The tweet has received over 13,000 retweets along with over 10,000 likes in a matter of hours. Thousands of people praised his efforts in helping those in need and giving generous advice.

The Gurdwaras across Paris have provided much needed relief in a city under curfew and state of emergency declared by the French government.

A person who apperciated the effort wrote: “And this is what religion should be about. God bless you!”, with another adding: “You are a bright light on a very very dark night.”

He responded: “Thank you but I am no bright light… Sikhs are here to serve humanity at all times.”
