The Maharashtra government organized an event to honor Shaheed Bhagat Singh was a major gaffe was committed after “Sukhdev” was written below Bhagat Singh’s photo.

The photo of Fadnavis the Maharashtra CM went viral of him standing next to the mislabeled image. The incident occurred on March 23 during the Shaheedi Day of Bhagat Singh’s sacrifice for the nation.

The gaffe happened on 23 March when the country was marking Martyr’s Day events across India.

“Those in power now have nothing to do with martyrs and the glorious history of our freedom struggle,” NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik told PTI.

These kind of goof-ups will continue to happen as solemn events like ‘shaheed diwas’ are treated in a “casual manner” by this government, Malik said.

Action should be taken not only against the official concerned but also higher-ups, he said.
