66 year old grandmother Sharinder Gill chased 3 knife wielding robbers out of her store in Arnold, Nottinghamshire, UK. The three robbers were wearing masks and carrying knives and demanded cash.
One of them carried a 10 inch knife but Sharinder Gill used her instinct and quickly grabbed a baseball bat. After seeing the bat, the robbers took the exit and fled the scene.
The robbery took place on Wednesday around 9:40pm.
Sharinder told a local newspaper:
The grandmother-of-two, who has run the shop for 25 years, said: “I just thought who are they to come in here and disrupt our livelihood?
“Instinct took over, I picked up the stick and hit one of them on the hand.
“Then they just ran out. I was shaking at the time, but I just wasn’t thinking about what I was doing.
“I don’t know how I felt at the time, I just had to do something.”
Officers from Nottinghamshire Police said the men are believed to be aged 18 or 19 and have asked anyone with information to call 101.
