73 Year old Sikh who was jogging around his neighborhood on Eastern Ave in Goodmayes was assaulted without provocation. The Sikh man is in serious yet stable condition according to the Ilford Recorder.
A man came from behind just around 4am on June 30 and left him unconscious on the road. Singh was taken to Queen’s hospital in Romford and currently being treated there.
The Ilford Record reported:
Mr Singh’s daughter, Raj Bolina, said: “It was my brother who realised at about 7am that our father had not come home.
“He went to King George’s Hospital and to the police, but no one had any information.”
The pair discovered what had happened at around 9am.
Mrs Bolina, 46, of Goodmayes Lane, added: “He was in intensive care, they said it was not life threatening, but life changing.
“The doctors said the reason he survived was because he was so healthy, he went running every day unless it rained.
“My mother, my brother and I are going through a very distressing time, we don’t know why someone would do this to him.”
A man age 41 has been arrested as the prime suspect and under questioning by the police.
