Many special treatments were given to Bollywood actors and other celebrities which went against Sikh Code of Conduct which preaches equality. The actors had a special entrance and exit made for them and were escorted by SGPC officials. The sangat attending the event had to wait in lines while the actors were given direct access to do matha tek (paying respects) to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The event further drew controversy when the actors were given kirpans and siropas by the Akal Takht Jathedar for zero contribution to Sikhism. Many in the sangat were unhappy as the excess of flashing of the cameras and security arrangements negatively impacted the entire program.

Members of the Public went star struck after Bollywood actors showed up to the Gurpurab celebrations in Mumbai. The event hosted by SGPC Mumbai and SGPC Amritsar drew the 5 Takht Jathedars along with many Bollywood film actors.

Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan and his father were present at the event along with Mika, Jitendar, Aysuhman Khurrana, Urvashi Rautela, and others. The event was going really well up until some members from the sangat hoarded the Bollywood actors and started taking selfies wildly. The attention of the event suddenly shifted with all eyes on the actors and people running up to them to take pictures. The mis-management of the event did not go unnoticed as pictures and videos went viral on whatsapp with Sikhs unhappy that disrespect of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji occurred. The biggest rule of any Sikh event is that all should be treated equally but the Mumbai event gave special treatment to the Bollywood actors.

The media had overwhelmed the venue with so many cameras causing a massive disturbance with the flashes. The event ended up turning from a Gurpurab celebration to a Bollywood event.

The actors drew lot eyes towards them causing a disturbances in the event. The Jathedars present on stage even appeared to be star struck while they were honoring the actors. While the actors were on stage, random people came up and started to get pictures with them.

Things even became shocking when one actress named Urvashi was told by a Sikh man next to her to take the Kirpan out and pose for pictures. Post the actors, the event became a picture taking frenzy. The actors are celebrities and some of them posed as they would at any event and forgetting that this was a religious event.

All the actors were hoarded by their fans at the event who could care less about what was happening in the Darbar Hall but rather focused on taking pictures with the celebrities.

Things went a bit over board when Urvashi an actress touches feet of Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh for quite some time in the presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

1. A VIP Only entrance and exit was made just for the celebrities and politicians who came to the Gurpurab celebrations while Guru’s sangat came from a common entrance.

2. Sangat waited in line to do Matha tel (Pay respects) to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji while actors were given direct access

3. Mumbai SGPC Jatha was escorting the celebrities
