Gang of ‘Granthis’ Arrested Over Robbery Charges


CIA Staff from Bahadur Singh Wala busted a group of Granthis looking to rob “petrol stations, banks and liquor vends and arrested them with weapons” according to the Tribune News Service.

The Tribune reported:

Satnam Singh, in charge of the CIA Staff, Bahadur Singh Wala, said after getting a tip-off, the CIA team raided the site where the gang members were planning to loot petrol stations, banks and liquor vends and arrested them with weapons.

The CIA in charge said they had arrested Kuldip Singh (Ladda), Gagandeep Singh (Badrukhan), Gurwinder Singh (Gujran), Harjinder Singh (Bhutal Kalan) and Nirbhey Singh (Bhutal Kalan).

One of the arrested Gurwinder Singh worked at Gurdwara Sahib in Bhutal Kalan as a permanent Granthi while others worked as part time in different Gurdwaras.

The weapons supposedly recovered by police were 315 bore piston, air gun, sharp knife, iron pipe, and a screw driver.
