2 Saroops of Guru Granth Sahib Ji Burned in Sindh, Pakistan

Sindh, Pakistan (September 29, 2013)-Couple of days ago an incident of burning of two Saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji happened in a Darbar in Khairpur, Sindh. Bishan Singh told that he had held a meeting with Sikh sangat of Peshawar in Gurdwara Bhai Joga Singh on Thursday wherein they had decided to hold meeting with the managements of these Darbar to convince them to not hurt the Sikh’s religious sentiments by showing disrespect to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. “If they didn’t listen to us, then we will be left with no option but to take legal action against them,” he said.

Meanwhile, Bishan Singh informed that the selection of members for PSGPC have begun by Evacuee Trust Property Board and minister of interfaith harmony.

Former president of Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSPGC) Bishan Singh who is also chairman of Baba Guru Nanak Welfare Society, Pakistan told TOI over phone from Lahore on Saturday that there were certain elements who wanted to create a rift between the Sikhs and Hindus by resorting to such incidents.

Singh said that in the past couple of months there had been five incidents of desecration of Sikh’s holy book in Shikarpur, Pannu Aquil and Mehar, all cities in Sindh province of Pakistan.

Three incidents of tearing the Angs of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji occurred in Khatwali Darbar, Samadh Ashram and Sajal Sher Darbar, all in Shikarpur and one incident each in Guru Nanak Darbar, Mehar and Dall Darbar in Pannu Aquil, he said.
