A Sikh boy named Jaylen Sandhu was stabbed to death in an neighborhood in Surrey, Canada.
The victim of a fatal stabbing in Surrey this week has been identified as a 17-year-old boy.
Mounties found Jaylen Sandhu suffering from multiple stab wounds after being called to the 16300-block of 88th Avenue on Thursday afternoon.
The teenager was rushed to hospital but couldn’t be saved. The RCMP said his next of kin has been notified.
On Friday, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team confirmed it has taken conduct of the case from Surrey Mounties.
The suspect remain on the loose.

He was rushed to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The suspect managed to flee the scene.
While police searched for the suspect, nearby Holy Cross High School was locked down for about a half an hour.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took over the case on Friday morning.
The killing is the third in this city in eight days – with all under 18 years old – and the 17th murder in Surrey this year.
