Amreli: Shock waves ran through Amreli town on Tuesday when a lawyer’s teen daughter allegedly stabbed her 23-year-old brother to death. The 17-year-old girl reportedly confessed to the crime and told cops she killed him because he opposed her relationship with a boy in their neighbourhood.
The victim, Siddharth Dafda. was found in a pool of blood in his house in Asopalav society on Monday evening. Siddharth’s father Ramesh Dafda is an advocate while his mother is a government health worker.
Ashok Pandya, police inspector, Amreli town police station, told TOI that she stabbed Siddharth in the chest and neck when the siblings were alone at home on Monday evening. After about two hours, she told her neighbours that Siddharth had committed suicide. The neighbours called up 108 ambulance and informed her parents.
“Siddharth was lying in a pool of blood and there was knife lying near his body. This proved that it was a murder,” he added.
While the girl claims to have committed the crime alone, her father has lodged a complaint against Navneet Madhad, with whom she had an affair, and accused him for murdering his son. Ramesh named his daughter as abettor in the case. Police said that the girl was very calm in the police station and had no remorse for killing her brother.
Preliminary inquiry also showed that Navneet Madhad with whom she had an affair was in Ghela-Somnath, 65 km from Amreli. However, police are checking the mobile phone details of Navneet. Police said that only after he appears before police and records his statement, there would be a clarity on exact sequence of the crime.
