101 Sikh Weddings At the Same Time


ANAND KARAJ OF 101 UNDER-PRIVILEGED SIKH DAUGHTERS ATTENDED BY THOUSANDS IN PUNJAB

12 February 2014 – Under the co-ordination of Baba Ranjit Singh Khalsa Dhadrianwale, Gurdwara Parmeshar Dwar Sahib has today hosted a magnificent event in which the Anand Karaj was performed of 101 Sikh daughters who hail from society’s financially under-privileged families.

The 2014 annual charitable event was dedicated to the birth anniversaries of Sahibzada Baba Ajit Singh Ji & Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale. The Parmeshar Dwar Trust organises this event every year to assist the economically less fortunate by wholly funding the weddings, as well as providing the initial settling requirements for each couple, including beds, house furniture, clothing etc.

Thousands from all over Punjab have attended the event, as well as Sikhs who have travelled from other countries abroad. Gyani Gurdev Singh Ji Australia did the Kirtan Sewa for the Lavan.

5 February 2014 — Patiala’s Gurdwara Parmeshar Dwar Sahib is preparing to host a significant event next week in which the Anand Karaj will be performed of 101 Sikh daughters who hail from society’s financially under-privileged families.

The Parmeshar Dwar Trust organises this event every year to assist the economically less fortunate by wholly funding the weddings, as well as the initial settling requirements of each couple.

Baba Ranjit Singh Khalsa Dhadrianwale, who founded the Patiala based charitable organisation, is supervising this year’s event taking place on the morning of 12 February 2014. This has been coincided with the birth anniversaries of, and dedicated to Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji’s eldest Sahibzada, Baba Ajit Singh Ji, and the 20th century’s renowned saint soldier, Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale.

In front of thousands present within Guru Sahib Ji’s Darbar, 101 weddings take place simultaneously in a magnificent ceremony in accordance to Sikh customs. The single request made to each newly-wed is to take steps in advancing their bond with Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj.

As part of its annual winter aid, recently on 21 December 2013 The Parmeshar Dwar Trust had also distributed free warm clothes across four different state schools to all children coming from under-privileged families in the region.
